Participation in the online conference "Financing and Investments in Communities" within the framework of the "U-LEAD with Europe" Program Initiative

The Rivne territorial community was selected to participate in the online conference "Financing and Investments in Communities".
The organizers of the event dedicated to the municipal investment potential of Ukraine aim to create a common space for the exchange of information and discussions between representatives of the government, communities, associations of local governments, international financial institutions and experts.
Representatives of the Department of Strategic Development and Investment of the Executive Committee of the Rivne City Council took part in the discussion of issues raised during the conference.
The speeches of the Minister of Development of Communities and Territories, Oleksiy Chernyshov, the Deputy Head of the EU Representation in Ukraine, Reni Duflo, and the Regional Director of the GIZ Bureau in Ukraine, Bernadette Yot, were extremely useful and professional.
In general, the online conference provided an opportunity to participate in three panel discussions and hear the opinions and experience of recognized specialists, including from the countries of the European Union, on issues that are obviously fundamentally important in terms of the development of our territorial community, namely:
- Regional development policy in Ukraine - sustainable financing of development projects in communities: current situation and promising opportunities.
- Successful practice of financing local investment projects in communities in Ukraine.
- Experience and expectations of financial institutions in financing development projects.
Also, participation in this event will allow to establish closer working relations with representatives of relevant departments, other municipalities and territorial communities. Expand own competences and implement the latest methods of attracting financing for the implementation of local investment projects in the areas of energy conservation, water supply, spatial planning, waste management, etc.
We thank the organizing team for the acquired knowledge in terms of strengthening the capacity of stakeholders in the field of decentralization and regional development at all levels with the main emphasis on the development of communities and the quality of life of their citizens, as well as for the opportunity received by the Rivne territorial community to be involved in the implementation of European development standards communities and broadening the focus of understanding work with potential investors.
The event is organized by the "U-LEAD with Europe" Program together with the Ministry of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine. The program is jointly financed by the European Union and its member states Germany, Poland, Sweden, Denmark, Estonia and Slovenia.
