Rivne joined the project "Promoting the development of social infrastructure (USIF IX)" (USIF - Ukrainian Social Investment Foundation).
The Memorandum on cooperation was signed today by the mayor Oleksandr Tretyak and the director of the second regional office of the Ukrainian Social Investment Foundation Vasyl Burtnyk.
The signing of this document is the result of four months of work, and it allows the development of design estimates for the reconstruction of a building in the central part of Rivne into apartments for IDPs. The status of these apartments is temporary residence of IDPs.
"Thanks to participation in the project, we will be able to turn premises that have not been used so far into residence for socially vulnerable groups, IDPs, those who have lost their homes and have nowhere to return. We offered the representatives of the foundation several buildings, and they have already chosen one - a long-term construction site on Drahomanov - where the apartments will be set up," - said the mayor of Rivne Oleksandr Tretyak.
The Social Investment Foundation currently works in cooperation with a donor - the German Government through the German State Development Bank (KfW).
In general, it is planned to allocate up to 2.4 million euros for construction.
In addition, in the near future, another building will be identified in the Rivne Municipal Territorial Community, where repair works will also be carried out with the grant funding from the Government of Germany.
