Rivne Mayor Oleksandr Tretyak signed a Grant Agreement in the amount of 1.2 million euros for the implementation of energy saving measures

For the last 2 years, the Executive Committee of Rivne City Council has been actively working on preparations for the implementation of the NEFCO-3 project “Energy Efficiency in municipally-owned buildings and facilities of the city of Rivne and modernisation of street lighting”.

The project includes two components: the implementation of measures for thermal modernization and modernization of street lighting, which is quite energy efficient in terms of cost savings of the city budget.

The first component will include a number of measures for thermal modernization of 31 municipal institutions of the city of Rivne, such as: insulation of foundations and walls, insulation of roofs, replacement of windows and doors with energy efficient ones; installation of individual heating points and balancing of the heating system; replacement of obsolete kitchen equipment, installation of solar collectors; installation of aerators to reduce water consumption, installation of air recuperators in gyms; replacement of interior lighting lamps with energy efficient ones; inclusive measures (installation of ramps, laying of tactile tiles, etc.).
The "street lighting" component will include the replacement of more than 4,000 street lighting fixtures with new luminaires with LED lamps.
Within the framework of the above-mentioned investment project, a Loan Agreement and a Grant Agreement were signed with NEFCO. The total cost of the investment project is 6.731 million euros, including the amount of grant funds is 1.2 million euros.
As a result of the project implementation, 31 public buildings in the city of Rivne will receive an improved indoor climate due to thermal renovation of enclosing structures with considered solutions for ventilation.
This will increase productivity, the emotional environment, and it is likely to lead to fewer hospital days for about 16,000 students and 2,000 employees in Rivne.
The project will also help improve the quality of street lighting, reduce electricity consumption for outdoor lighting in the city, reduce expenditures from the city budget, increase accessibility and increase security.
Thanks to the active work on the preparation and implementation of the project, Mayor Oleksandr Tretyak awarded the Rivne City Council with the Deputy Head of the Department for Strategic Development and Investment Roman Shirko and Chief Specialist Dina Gurina.
