Rivne is working on developing a strategy of cooperation and marketing communications to promote the traditional culinary heritage of Rivne

For several months now, specialists from Rivne, Lviv, Lublin and Poznan have been working on a strategy to promote the culinary heritage of Rivne and Rivne region. Research on the history of local gastronomic culture and its current state is underway, as well as negotiations with international partners. In particular, together with the representatives of Lublin, ideas on cultural and professional exchanges at various levels were developed. Among other things, exchanges of visits of the best chefs from Ukrainian and Polish cities with master classes for both professionals and amateurs are expected.

The possibility of festivals of housewives and hosts is also considered, within which ordinary residents of Rivne and Lublin will be able to prepare, taste and compare similar dishes of Lubelskie and Rivne region, share censuses and win prizes. A series of culinary duels between Ukrainian and Polish chefs is also probable.

No less important will be the promotion of Rivne region at the national level. First of all, we are talking about the regions of Ukraine, whose residents often pass through the Rivne region, but mostly do not even stop here. First of all, we are talking about Kyivites, Lviv residents and Transcarpathians, who most often use the Kyiv-Chop route.

Promotion tools are being developed, but it is obvious that among them will be exchanges of advertising space with cities of origin of potential gastronomic tourists and low-budget viral campaigns. However, one of the most important tasks of the campaign is to arouse interest in their own gastronomic heritage among the people of Rivne.

"No advertising works as effectively as locals who are proud of their history and traditions, know a lot of interesting things about them and talk about them with enthusiasm," said Vsevolod Polishchuk, one of the experts involved in developing the strategy. promotion of the "Galician cuisine" brand and the development of Lviv as the main gastro-tourist destination in Ukraine. To best cope with this task, professionals need to understand the current state of affairs. What do the people of Rivne know about the city and the region, what are they proud of and what are they cooking.
To do this, city residents are asked to fill out a small questionnaire:

The development of the strategy and the survey is supported by the European Union in the framework of the project "Cultural heritage of the kitchen - the promotion of culinary traditions through the professionalization of the gastronomic offer of Lublin and Rivne.

"The project "Cultural Heritage of the Kitchen - Promotion of Culinary Traditions through the Professionalization of the Gastronomic Offer of Lublin and Rivne" was created and implemented with the financial support of the European Union under the Poland-Belarus-Ukraine Cross-Border Cooperation Program 2014-2020.
