Congratulations! The city of Rivne received the distinction of the Council of Europe - the Board of Honor!
This is the third award given to the city at the regular session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, which took place today, April 26, in Strasbourg.
Based on the results of the development of European relations, cooperation with sister cities, development of friendly relations with European organizations and municipalities, support of European values, the city of Rivne in 2022, the Department of Strategic Development and Investment of the Department of Economic Development prepared and submitted an application (package of documents) for receiving the Honorary Distinction of the Council of Europe.
During 2022, the city authorities of Rivne actively maintained friendly relations with sister cities, and friendly relations were established with the city of East Brunswick (USA), signing a partnership agreement on May 24.
As usual, in May 2022, Rivne joined the celebration of Europe Day - the day of common values, common history of all European nations. Europe Day was celebrated with the participation of children, youth, and creative groups of the city.
In 2022, the city of Rivne repeatedly met foreign delegations with official familiarization and working visits, as well as meetings in an online format.

It is worth noting that since 2014, the Department of Strategic Development and Investment of the Department of Economic Development of the Rivne City Council has started work on establishing cooperation between the municipality and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. In April 2015, at the regular session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, by the decision of the Committee on Social Issues, Health Care and Sustainable Development of the Council of Europe, the city of Rivne was awarded an honorary European Diploma, the first step in the Council of Europe awards system.

In 2020, based on the results of annual promotional work, as well as the introduction of such new standards in the work of local authorities, the subcommittee on the Prize of Europe decided to award the city of Rivne the Honorary Flag, which is the second level in the system of awards of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
