Rivne participated in the training and panel discussion, which was organized as part of the NetZeroCities Pilot Cities Program. Within the framework of this Program, the city won a grant in the amount of 973,000 euros and will implement a project to create a vision for reducing emissions to zero.
Representatives of the Department of Economic Development of the Rivne City Council and the project team took part in the training and discussion. The training session was based on the key issues, priorities and challenges that the pilot cities (53 cities that won the grant) highlighted in their projects. Challenges such as building modernization and energy use, transport and mobility were addressed, as well as topics such as innovative governance and finance, new institutional infrastructure, energy and climate policy, capacity development and organizational change.
During the training and discussion, representatives of the city of Rivne presented their project and shared their thoughts with other teams of pilot cities regarding the achievement of climate neutrality and ways to involve citizens to overcome economic and social barriers.
