In June 2021, the Rivne City Territorial Community passed a competitive selection to participate in the project "Local Economic Development School for Territorial Communities" (hereinafter referred to as the School of Local Economic Development), which was conducted by the NGO "Eidos Center" with the support of the Representative Office of the "Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom" in Ukraine and Belarus. The program was designed for 6 months, where 3 modules awaited the participants, each of which lasted one week and consisted of 3 lectures and a practical task, which the teams performed using the lecturers' advice.
Obviously, after the reform, the newly formed territorial communities face new rules of the game and the need to attract additional resources. Officials of territorial communities need new knowledge and skills in order to effectively manage the community and be able to attract additional funding, therefore, participation in this project allowed not only to increase their own competencies, but also to form a system for attracting investments in the development of the territorial community.
The team of the Rivne City Territorial Community consisted of Volodymyr Lypko, head of the Department of Economy, member of the Rivne City Council, Natalia Mayorova, member of the Standing Committee on Budget, Finance and Communal Property Management, and Roman Shyrko, deputy head of the Department of Strategic Development and Investment. The coordinator of the team was Deputy Mayor Ihor Krechkevych.
At the end, the participants took part in the final offline event with the involvement of business representatives, the purpose of which was to present the investment opportunities of the territorial community and establish dialogue and cooperation. An important part of the event was the presentation of Investment Passports of territorial communities.
It is pleasant to note that according to the results of the presentations, the Investment Passport of the Rivne City Territorial Community received the most favorable reviews in terms of informative content, accessibility of the information presented, coverage of all necessary components for a potential investor, and visual design.
We thank the team of the NGO Center "Eidos" and the Representative Office of the "Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom" in Ukraine for organizing and conducting such an important training, as well as for the received professional information on the ways of forming, improving and realizing the investment potential of the territorial community, the development of key investment projects and stimulating investment environment.
