According to the results of the development of European relations, cooperation with sister cities, development of friendly relations with European organizations and municipalities, support of European values, which include respect for human dignity and human rights, freedom, democracy, equality, the city of Rivne, the Department of Strategic Development and Investment of the Department of Economic Development prepared and submitted an application for the Council of Europe Award of Honor.
During 2022, the city authorities of Rivne actively maintained friendly relations with sister cities, and friendly relations were established with the city of East Brunswick (USA), signing a partnership agreement on May 24.
- Mrs. Malgozhata Manka-Shulik is the president of the city of Zabrze;
- Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Ukraine Ms. Anka Feldhusen;
- Deputies of the European Parliament, Mr. Andryus Kubilius and Mr. Mark Demesmaker;
- The mayor of the city of Sindelfingen (Germany), Mr. Herr Vöhringer.
The city has established cooperation with such international organizations and structures as GAiN (Germany), the World Food Program of the United Nations, UNICEF (United Nations Children's Fund), the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB), etc.
Considering the above and taking into account the long-term and fruitful cooperation between the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and the city of Rivne in the direction of introducing European standards in the work of local authorities, promoting European values in the everyday life of the community, organizing European events and participating in exchanges in the fields of education, culture and sports , the Department of Strategic Development and Investment of the Department of Economic Development prepared a report on the European integration activities of the city of Rivne for the Council of Europe Award of Honor.
